The greatest gift Delia could have sent me. Vegemite stocks ran out early last week and it was a bit touch and go there for a few days until this little baby rocked up. By my calculations, if all things go smoothly and I pace myself, this should last me up to four months. It's perfect for breakfast, a quick snack or a lazy dinner. Spreads and condiments here are all a bit dodgmo — I have tried the Ham Paste and the Chicken Paste — gets you across the line but that's about it. Jams and marmalades are sold in sachets instead of jars which is close to the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Luckily there is almost zero chance of them being stolen as EVERYONE here thinks it tastes like salty dog shit. But no chances will be taken and they will live under lock and key and be defended to the death. Sometimes when I get really homesick I take the cap off and just smell it (or squirt a tad up my nose if I am heading out).

I should have taken one of those bad boys to NYC. Vegemite withdrawls resulted in me pulling some major eye rolls at a few cafe waiters when they told me their Aussie themed cafe had "run out, because it's hard to find here". No shit. Dont put it on the menu if you dont have a supplier hooked up like Mr Abroad does (is what i should have said to them instead of "cool, i'll have a bagel instead")
